Paint A Simple Interior Scene
- Use Alignment & Measurement To Create An Accurate Scene
- Refine A Drawing Before Painting
- Using The Essential Character Of Watercolor For Subtle Light Effects
About This Lesson
Interior scenes are especially challenging because slight variances in proportions and scale are very evident.
An accurate drawing is essential. This lesson shows how to use two important drawing principles – Alignment and Measurement – to help you get a drawing that looks “right”. Develop and refine the drawing as a basis for a watercolor painting.
The painting itself is totally focused on using the fluid quality of watercolor to represent subtle light effects found in interior spaces.
This is a Challenging Lesson!
One of the challenges of creating a separate drawing is getting it transferred to watercolor paper with accuracy and minimal corrections. Find tips to enlarge a small drawing and three ways to transfer it to watercolor paper on our Watercolor Painting Tips & Tricks page.
