Paint A Simple Interior Scene
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
- Using one-point perspective for a hallway scene
- Using graded washes for subtle light effects
- Capturing the essentials rather than details
About This Lesson
This is an easy scene that looks complicated. Interior hallways are often viewed in a way that conforms well to one-point perspsective. Being a relatively narrow space, we often see only one side of the space as it looks in perspective,
This scene has light coming through windows on a wall at the far end. The light filters through the space, gradually losing intensity and leaving subtle shade and shadows on walls facing away. We’ll capture the subtle light effects with graded washes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Paint – Cobalt Blue, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Cadmium Yellow
- Brushes – Large, Medium, Small Rounds, a Rigger and a 1/4″ Flat
- Paper – 140lb Cold Press paper about 11″h x 7″wide.
